The airport

Columbia Gorge Regional Airport, also listed as The Dalles Municipal, sits in Dallesport, Washington, across the Columbia River from The Dalles, Oregon. Aviation here goes back to the early 1920s, when a grass strip served the U.S. Airmail Service. The present airfield was built in 1942 as a World War II training base.

It is an unusual airport: an Oregon city co-sponsors a field on Washington soil. The City of The Dalles and Klickitat County run it jointly through an airport board.

Who runs the airport

The airport board and airport manager handle operations, rules, leases and the airport's own hangars. Their site is flycgra.com. Go there for board meetings and minutes, airport rules and regulations, business park leasing, and the manager's contact details.

Who publishes this guide

This guide is published by CGRA Hangars, LLC, a private company that owns and leases T-hangars at KDLS. It is independent. The airport, the City of The Dalles and Klickitat County have not reviewed or endorsed it.

We earn money when pilots rent our hangars, which is why the site links to them. The airfield information is free to use, and we try to keep it correct.
